- Front end – WebSphere – Java
- Back end – CICS COBOL DB2
Front end is a web based intranet JAVA application running
on WAS platform. The client side platform is MS Explorer.
Additionally, two Java applets are installed on client
– one for providing single sign-on functionality and
one to
assure printing functionalities to financial printers.
The midtier (Java, WAS) is a fail-over and load balanced
application server which implements only presentation logic
and uses backend (CICS, COBOL, DB2) to assure business logic.
Data mapping and synchronisation between front and backend
systems is done with use of AGF framework (API Group Framework,
KBC).
Business logic is handled by backend information-broker
transactions which call adequate backend functions and modules
and take care of request synchronization and committing.
